Bohemian Toastmasters club in Prague – a place for everybody to uncover their potential and develop themselves at their own pace. We are a member of Toastmasters International organization, we follow their educational program, The Pathways, and our members participate in international speech contests organized by Toastmasters International.
Our mission
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
How it works
At every club meeting one or more members deliver speeches they have prepared and rehearsed at home. Another member watches the speech carefully and prepares an evaluation which is delivered later in the evaluation part of the meeting. The evaluator comments on strong points of the speaker and offers specific recommendations for further improvement. Another part of the meeting, called Table Topics, consists of impromptu speeches. The speaker receives a topic, has several seconds for preparation and then delivers a one to two-minute speech on the topic. Club meetings are conducted in English language with great emphasis on positive and supportive attitude.
